Norwood Hospital has been closed since the devastating 2020 flood — and four years later, the construction of its new facility sits abandoned. Steward Health Care’s bankruptcy left our community without a hospital, forcing families, seniors, and first responders from Norwood, Walpole, Canton, Dedham, and across the Neponset Valley to travel miles farther for emergency care. 

We, the undersigned residents, healthcare workers, and local business leaders, urge the leading Massachusetts hospitals to demonstrate their commitment to community care by investing in Norwood Hospital. Critical community care should not be predicated on profit and market share but on meeting essential community needs.  One of Massachusetts’ world-leading hospitals must take on operation of this vital community resource. 

Finishing Norwood Hospital isn’t just a construction project — it’s a lifeline for more than 250,000 residents who deserve timely access to emergency and community-based care.
